Internship Opportunities

Local Works Global is a founding-stage, volunteer-run organization working to move the world's development capital and decision-making power toward the people closest to the challenges. Our interns will be part of a small core team that includes former senior USAID staff, taking ownership of meaningful work and getting a front-row view of building something new.

All roles are remote and open to candidates anywhere. Academic credit is supported where your institution allows it. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and locations: if you're excited about this work but unsure whether you meet every qualification, we still encourage you to reach out.

All of these internship positions are unpaid. We recognize that unpaid internships are exclusionary, favoring people who can afford to work without pay, and they shut out talented people who can't. This runs against everything Local Works Global stands for.

These roles are unpaid not because it's right, but because it's where we are. LWG is pre-revenue, and the only money behind it so far are small dollar donations and personal contributions from its founders. We would rather pay interns, and we intend to as soon as we can.
