Local Capacity Strengthening in Action
Case Studies from the Local Capacity Strengthening Policy Collection
The first materials restored through USAID’s Local Capacity Strengthening Policy collection introduced the policy and its seven principles for effective programming and equitable partnerships. Together, these principles provide a foundation for supporting local actors to define their own priorities, build on existing strengths, and achieve lasting results on their own terms.
We are pleased to share the next batch of materials related to the policy! These case studies bring the local capacity strengthening principles to life by showing how USAID Missions and partners applied the policy across different sectors and contexts. The examples offer practical insights into what local capacity strengthening looks like in action, including how organizations adapted the principles to local priorities, relationships, and systems.
